About The Body & Herbal Medicine
  • Monthly classes which teach:
  • The basic systems of the body, their anatomy and physiology
  • How these systems work individual and together to create optimal wellness
  • A materia medica for each body system
  • How food and nutrition repairs, balances and adjusts the body
  • Traditional methods of harvesting, preparation, and preserving foods & herbs
Registration Information
  • (11) 90 minute workshops 2nd Saturday of every month. 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
  • Held onsite at Crow & Owl
  • $80 pay as you go registration feed due 2 weeks prior to class date you intend to come to.
  • Registration Fee covers class book, materia medica, recipes & medicine making supplies included
Class Cost $80 pay as you go
$770 paid in full by December 21, 2018 $110 savings for all 11 classes

What Students Can Expect To Learn
  • Anatomy and physiology of 7 Major Body Systems : Respiratory, Integumentary, Circulatory, Central Nervous, Excretory, Endocrine, and Digestive systems
  • How to research the use, safety standards, efficacy, and delivery of foods & herbs
  • Nutritional & healing components of foods and herbs as they relate to the 7 body systems
  • Ethical harvesting, sourcing, and use of plant material
  • Care, storage, and preparations of traditional medicine products such as salves, tinctures, teas, syrups and oxymels
  • Materia Medica of 150 herbs

About The Instructor
Alexis Showers combines her love for plant medicine with her years of education and experience with anatomy and physiology to give an in depth understanding of how the body works, traditional methods used in plant healing but also the up and coming scientific breakthroughs in natural medicine.
As a Traditional Medicine Woman trained in the Five Element Theory and the Mexhica Traditon Alexis blends story,  personal experience and centuries of proven techniques into each class giving each student the ability to create an at home Food As Medicine practice that is right for themselves and their family.  For more information about Alexis, her education and background click here.
