
Herbal Apprentice Program
Crow & Owl's herbal apprentice program is a year long program created to give each apprentice a working foundation in Western herbalism. Students will have the opportunity to explore every aspect of plant medicine, from planting and cultivation to harvest, product making and sales.
Areas Of Study
Botany
Basic botany allows students to explore plant anatomy, classification, cultivation and application of herbs
Foundations of Western Herbalism
Students learn the principals behind formulation and medicine making methods. This class is a series of hands on workshops.
Cultivation & harvest techniques
This class provide instruction for creating herbal and healing gardens. Understanding growing seasons and growing zones. Beginning concepts of permaculture are also shared.
Manufacturing
This class provides the basics for creating and manufacturing products.
Herbal science
Learn the science of application methods, beginning phytochemists, and herbal vocabulary.
Medicinal & Edible flowers
This class provides students with a working knowledge of medicinal and edible plants. Their phytochemical and nutritional properties, as well as methods of use.
Wildcrafting
Learn how to find herbs in an urban setting and rural locations. This class is taught through a series of plant walks and seasons so students are able to see the plant changes through out the year. Wildcrafting philosophies and techniques will also be taught.
Body systems
This class covers the anatomy and physiology of the 11 body systems. Common disfunctions of each system are discussed along with corresponding herbs to help provide balance for each system.
